Scary Statistics

Some scary statistics. I know a few of you on my friends list either have PCOS, or think you have PCOS. The united states is starting to see PCOS as a metabolic disorder instead of a reproductive one because of these statistics. 20% of women with PCOS have had or will have a stroke and/or heart attack in her 20's; 10-25% will have or did have hypertension (high blood pressure) by her 30's; 40-55% will have or did have diabetes by her 40's and another 15-30% will have some form of feminine cancer (endometrial, cervical, breast ,etc) by her 60's. The thing is all of these are preventable by a healthy, mindful diet of whole foods and exercise. Scary isn't? these statistics I read in some books I recently checked out from the library on PCOS such as the savvy woman's guide to PCOS, the PCOS protection plan and the dieticians guide to PCOS. (all were published in 2006 or later)
